LAFAYETTE, Colo. - Today the USL announced that Boulder County United will be the latest club to join USL League Two.

“Joining USL League Two gives our club the avenue to bring a special soccer environment to our area, developing the local soccer culture,” Dave Carver, Boulder County United Technical Director, said. “We are so excited for our USL teams to sit at the top of our player pathway with a true senior avenue into pre-professional and college soccer opportunities for our aspiring youth players. We cannot wait to get started!”

The club’s USL mission is to offer a destination soccer opportunity, sourcing talent both locally and from other regions of the world. Their goal is to create a pathway for anyone willing and able to reach their maximum potential and carve out a professional future.

“Boulder County is truly going to host some quality soccer,” USL VP of Youth and Pre-Professional Development Joel Nash said. “They are a representation of everything we look for when expanding in League Two. They’ve taken this desire for soccer in their community, brought a lot of people together, and made it happen. We’re so excited to see what they can do in our league.”

Boulder County’s current iteration has existed since 2021 but has been developing by unifying local clubs since 2012. That year, Boulder County Force and Boulder Athletic became FC Boulder. In 2018, Trebol Soccer Club based out of Lafayette, CO joined into FC Boulder. Finally, in 2021 FC Boulder merged with Boulder County SC to become Boulder County United and become one club for the county.

Boulder County United will join League Two and Academy competitions beginning in the 2023 season. They hope to establish a complete pre-professional pathway for both men’s and women’s players in the future.
